Topic: Hiring Persons With Disabilities in the Workplace Legal Update

Session Description:This presentation will entail discussing hiring persons with disabilities from interview process to actual employment. This will be a panel discussion with individuals who are disabled and representatives from Goodwill Easter Seals. Persons with disabilities will share their experiences from the interview process to being hired. There will also be demonstrations regarding workplace adjustments, modifications, and technical support available to employers.
Linda Gillis is currently the Director of Red Roof Inn's National Contact Center located in Springfield, Ohio. Linda has over 25 years of experience in HR, Organizational Development, Management and Training. Linda has experience in education, non-profit, manufacturing, insurance, and hospitality. She earned her BA degree from Wilmington College in education and psychology, her MS degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Dayton and has earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from HRCI and SHRM. Linda is a current member of the Springfield Human Resources Association, Miami Valley Human Resource Association, Society for Human Resources Management and Association for Talent Development. Since all the businesses are centered around people whether they produce goods or services, Linda is focused on increasing revenue and productivity, cutting costs, improving quality and growing client satisfaction from and business and HR perspective. Linda is a member of Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association and has a therapy dog named Jake. Jake goes to work with Linda every day. Linda volunteers her time by visiting Dayton Hospice, hospitals, and other facilities with Jake.
