Session Description and Speaker Bio

Speaker: David Powell and Mike Coltrane: David T. Powell David has 21 years of military experience serving in the United States Army. During his service, David served as a small arms instructor, a sniper team leader, and a close quarters engagement trainer. Additionally, David attended and graduated from some of the Army’s most challenging training, to included Parachutist, Ranger, and Survival schools. David took part in several deployments to the Middle East, Bosnia, Uganda, and assisted in the U.S. Embassy evacuation in Liberia. David has been involved in managing projects and detailed operations for the last 25 years. He has worked in several industries including financial, government, and the military sector. He prides himself on exceeding customer and management expectations. David is a Talent Acquisition Consultant with strategic HR inc. From managing projects to recruiting quality individuals, David is highly skilled at understanding the life cycle of a project, defining its scope, and ensuring deliverables are on time and under budget. After retiring from a successful military career, David began working in the field of human resources. Michael Coltrane Mike is incredibly talented at quickly understanding a client’s hiring needs and digging for those purple squirrels. His sweet spot is anything technical, IT or engineering, but his skill let him effectively tackle the recruitment of any position. Mike has a Bachelor of Science from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and NRA Certified Refused to Be a Victim Instructor with strong skills in: Contract Negotiation Talent Acquisition Vendor Management Sales Coaching Gathering Requirements Project Coordination Applicant Tracking Client Retention Effective Communication Mike is an outgoing, hardworking, independent, loyal, and most importantly honorable leader. He is a wonderful asset to strategic HR, inc. as a Talent Acquisition Consultant.

Session Description:With the amount of Active Shooter events occurring at an alarming rate, it’s imperative employers address this issue. By having and rehearsing a comprehensive Active Shooter Plan, you provide your employees with a better opportunity to survive an attack in the event one happens. In this training, you will: ? Get an overview of recent Active Shooter events by category. ? Obtain a better understanding of Law Enforcement & First Responders response scenarios. ? Learn an easy to remember tool to help in the moment. ? Gain an understanding of the metaphysical changes during an Active Shooter event. ? Gain a general understanding of your surroundings.
