  • Session Description: Ben will provide an update on recent changes, developments, and trends in employment law and regulations that impact HR practices within an organization to include legislative changes, discrimination and harassment prevention, wage and hour laws, employee benefits and leave policies, and much more.

    Speaker Bio: Ben is an accomplished attorney and business partner with extensive experience managing a broad spectrum of legal affairs for Premier Health, a large health care system in Southwest Ohio. Skilled in labor and employment law, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of complex as well as routine contracts and agreements, providing practical and understandable legal advice to non-lawyers, addressing complex legal issues with senior executives, and synthesizing various areas of the law while ensuring that all bases are covered.

    "Spending What You Deserve on Healthcare," Presented by Jamie Charlton

  • Session Description: Jamie will facilitate a discussion on alternative options within the health insurance market for small to mid-size businesses as well as educate on alternate means to providing health insurance for your employees. Additionally, he’ll provide better understanding of the reporting that is available and how it allows companies to strategize around health insurance. Lastly, Jamie will discuss what questions to ask insurance providers to better determine the best plan for your company.

  • Session Description: Nancy invites her audience through a fascinating journey of growing up with dyslexia and ADHD, the challenges she faced within the corporate world and how she unlocked her brain to celebrate the natural gifts she was given. She shares a positive perspective on neurodiversity, revealing actionable strategies employers can adopt to enhance the workplace experience for their neurodiverse employees. By the end of the luncheon, she promises that we’ll all 1) Gain a better understanding of Neurodiversity and how it presents in the workplace, 2) Understand common workplace challenges & strengths tied to Neurodiversity and 3) Learn how to embrace and support neurodivergent colleagues within your company.

    Speaker Bio: As a former HR Executive with dyslexia and ADHD, Nancy has found ways to be successful in the workplace using her “different brain” as a gift. Early in her career, she felt like her brain was working against her, despite consistently outworking her peers. Once she uncovered her natural gifts and changed a few things about how she was working, everything changed. Now she shares her experiences and expertise to help organizations celebrate different ways of thinking through positive, inclusive, and supportive methods within the workplace.

  • Session Description: Matthew will present information about legislative and regulatory developments at the national, state, and local levels that directly impact the workforce including federal legislation and policies, state and local regulations, technology and date privacy, and much more.

    Speaker Bio: Matthew focuses his practice on labor and employment matters and business and commercial litigation. He is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in labor and employment law, is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through HRCI, and has received training as a “Civil Rights Investigator” through ATIXA. He counsels employers on day-to-day employment decisions that implicate a variety of state and federal employment laws. He also works with employers on drafting, implementing, and applying their workplace policies, including updating employee handbooks.
