Session Description: Matthew Bakota will provide an update on recent changes, developments, and trends in employment law and regulations that impact HR practices within an organization to include legislative changes, discrimination and harassment prevention, wage and hour laws, employee benefits and leave policies, and much more.

Speaker Bio:
Meet Matthew — an experienced litigator and Ohio State Bar Association-certified labor & employment law specialist. He advises clients on business, commercial, and employment matters, offering practical legal insight and strategic support.

From contract and real estate disputes to workplace policy development and employment litigation, Matthew delivers responsive, no-nonsense solutions. He also represents landlords and property managers in fair housing matters.

About Us

The Miami Valley Human Resources Association (formerly the Miami Valley Personnel Association) was organized just prior to the First World War. A number of Dayton Personnel executives met for the purpose of fostering and promoting better methods of maintaining the best possible human relations in industry and commerce. Out of these early experiences so many worthwhile values have evolved that today the Association includes Human Resource professionals from local organizations that comprise a large segment of the business community. All of these industrial and commercial establishments are helped in many ways by their participation in the Association.
